When you need to decide
Five years from your renewal
Indicative costs in USD, excluding taxes. Not a quotation.
How this is worked out. All figures are indicative, in USD and exclude taxes. Renewing applies your expected increase to licence and vendor support for all five years from renewal, plus the upgrade cost if you need one. Moving to Keycloak uses the indicative Midships Accelerator subscription of $400,000 a year, the planning migration allowance of $625,000 and, if selected, managed operations from $240,000 a year. Midships Keycloak runs on premises or in your own cloud tenancy; your infrastructure, Red Hat subscriptions and any overlap in licences are excluded. Payback is the migration cost divided by the monthly difference in running cost.
How this planner works
When do I need to decide?
Earlier than your renewal date. You must give notice before your contract ends, and if you plan to move, migration has to start early enough to finish before the contract ends. The planner shows the earlier of the two as your decision date.
What does renewing cost in the planner?
Your annual licence and vendor support, increased by the renewal increase you enter, for five years from renewal, plus the cost of a major upgrade if you need one.
What does moving to Keycloak cost?
The indicative Midships Accelerator subscription of $400,000 a year, a planning migration allowance of $625,000 and, if you choose it, managed operations from $240,000 a year. There are no per identity or per device fees. Your own infrastructure, Red Hat subscriptions and any overlap in licences are excluded.
Can we stay on our current platform?
Yes. Midships delivers and operates Ping and ForgeRock environments as a vendor-independent specialist, so you can keep your platform and still reduce the effort of upgrades and operations.
Why are vendor end-of-life dates not shown?
They change, and they depend on your exact version. Check your vendor's published support lifecycle for your version, and tell the planner whether you need a major upgrade.
Does anything I enter leave my browser?
No. Your figures stay in the page and in the shareable link, after the # sign, which is never sent to a server.
Plan your renewal with the facts.
We will review your contract position, assess the upgrade or migration effort, and give you a fixed plan for whichever option you choose.
